Sophie Tappeiner has been invited by Valerio Del Baglivo to participate at the New Entries section of Fondamenta, organised by Artissima Art Fair in Turin.
Fondamenta is a project based on the work of a fair in progress, to experiment with new ways of meeting and communicating, reacting to the transformations of the present. Fondamenta is not a viewing room, not a virtual tour, not an exhibition. It is a collective project coordinated by the curators of Artissima 2020 and produced with galleries for galleries, which are the fundamental “fondamenta”(foundations) of the fair, the heart and fulcrum of the art market.

Jala Wahid’s video work ‘Fiery Father’ (2019) will be screened as part of the film programme ‘Ghosts of Songs: Oral Histories in Female MENA Cinema’ presented by Sharjah Art Foundation and Habibi Collective. Venturing into diasporic, collective and inherited memories, the films attempt to narrativise a series of uprooted experiences.

Sophie Tappeiner is pleased to participate at FAIR, a new art fair initiative taking place May 20–June 21, 2020. The gallery presents work by Irina Lotarevich, Anna Schachinger, Sydney Shen and Jala Wahid.
FAIR has been conceived by The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) and is designed to be entirely online, function cooperatively, and act as a benefit for NADA’s community of galleries and artists. The proceeds from FAIR will directly support 118 NADA Gallery Members and 82 other galleries that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 crisis, totaling 200 galleries around the world.
